i'd say, see / read ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST/as well.

 -- god of small things,  by roy
 -- mario puzo, the godfather .. dont miss the movie!
 -- catch 22, of course.
 -- sherlock holmes, twenty thousand leagues under the sea, finding neverland ..?
 -- hemingway, dh lawrence, rand, hanif qureishi.. 
 -- has anyone read, the sound and the fury, william faulkner?
